چکیده

A rapid and efficient protocol was developed for inducing direct organogenesis using shoot tip explants of Vernonia cinerea L. Shoot tip explants were cultured on MS medium supplemented with different concentrations of BAP (2.22 to 22.20 μM/l) and KN (2.42 to 23.20 μM/l) for direct shoot induction. The frequency of multiple shoot induction and proliferation increased with increasing concentration of BAP (13.32 μM/l) and KN (13.92 μM/l) at optimal level. The high frequency of multiple shoot proliferation was observed on MS medium containing 13.32 μM/l BAP and 13.92 μM/l KN. The regenerated shoots were successfully rooted on MS medium supplemented with IBA 7.38 μM/l, after sequential hardening, survival rate was 90 %. The effect of PGRs on in vitro shoot multiplication of GF677 hybrid (Prunus persica x P. amygdalus) rootstock on GNH medium

GF677 rootstock (peach ×almond) is an important rootstock for peach. It was produced by Bernhard in French at Grand Farad Research Centre in 1965. The present study focused on the effect of some PGRs on propagation and root induction on GNH medium as part of providing an applicable protocol for micro-propagation of mentioned rootstock. Results indicated that BAP at concentration of 0.5 mg/l plu...

Factors influencing in vitro plant regeneration of Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.)

An efficient and reproducible in vitro protocol for largescale multiplication of Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.)has been described. Multiple shoots formation was significantly influenced by growth regulators, photoperiod, explant position, season of explant collection and culture passage. Nodal explants were collected atmonthly intervals to initiate in vitro cultures. The hig...

A genetically stable rooting protocol for propagating a threatened medicinal plant—Celastrus paniculatus

Celastrus paniculatus, belonging to the family Celastraceae, is an important medicinal plant of India. Owing to the ever-increasing demand from the pharmaceutical industry, the species is being overexploited, thereby threatening its stock in the wild. Poor seed viability coupled with low germination restricts its propagation through sexual means. Thus, alternative approaches such as in vitro te...
